In December 2022, I found myself at a crossroads. I’d just wrapped up a temporary teaching role in November and was seeking a full-time, permanent teaching position. The desire for stability and purpose was strong. I attended Shiloh program, where Bishop Oyedepo spoke passionately about seeking God’s guidance and waiting for his guidance.
Following his advice, I wrote down a list of four schools I wanted to apply to and began praying over each one, asking God which direction to take. Surprisingly, I felt nudged to apply to the fifth school on my list. I began praying earnestly about this school using two scriptures that felt particularly relevant:
Genesis 1:2 - “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”
Psalm 44:3 - “For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.”
After praying I felt a deep sense of peace, I contacted the school to arrange a visit. To my surprise, I was informed that a tour would only be given to applicants who were invited for an interview. Eager to pursue this opportunity, I began the application process, but due to a packed schedule, I missed the deadline. Some days after the school reopened the application giving me a second chance to submit my application.
I was soon invited for an interview, scheduled for a Tuesday. While on the train headed to the interview, I decided to revisit the school’s website. I discovered this school was an independent institution. Despite reviewing the website before applying, this significant detail hadn’t registered with me before. I thanked God for His guidance and the unexpected opportunities He had placed before me.
That week coincided with the Hallelujah Challenge, and on Friday, Pastor Nath encouraged everyone to "dress like your miracle." Taking his words to heart, I dressed as if I were about to accept my offer letter, and I poured my heart out in praise that night. Just a few days later, on February 27, 2023, I received the call—I’d been offered the position.
Stay tuned for Part 2, where the journey of faith and purpose unfolds even further.
